Body Lift

For some massive weight loss clients, a circumferential body lift might be the solution to all that overhanging skin. If you've had Lap-band(tm) surgery or other bariatric surgery (such as Roux-en-Y or gastric bypass), you know how uncomfortable it is to live with so much excess skin. Unfortunately, when a person gains a lot of weight, the skin can stretch so much it loses its elasticity. Then, when you have bariatric surgery and lose 50 to 100 pounds or more, the skin can't return to normal. You're left with pounds of unsightly and uncomfortable overhanging skin.

We have the solution.

A total body lift involves making an incision all the way around the body, below the waistline. Excess skin is removed, and then the remaining skin is stretched from the top and bottom to create a smooth abdomen and mid/lower back area. A body lift also will restore the droop of the buttocks and may allow for better shape of the buttocks. Your waistline will return to a normal size and appearance, and you won't have to hide that droopy skin by tucking it into your pant legs or wearing girdles.

A circumferential body lift works well for people who are in generally good health, don't smoke, and don't have diabetes. Body lifts are safe, but you need to know this is extensive surgery that entails certain risks. Dr. Morehouse will educate you about all the risks and benefits of total body lift surgery when you come in for your consultation.

The total body lift is one of the few surgeries we do not perform in-house. We perform these surgeries at a local hospital so that you can stay overnight for your safety and comfort. You'll go home the next day and can expect to require a minimum of three weeks of downtime to recuperate.

We do not maintain a gallery of circumferential body lift before-and-after photos on the website, but we can show you some when you come in for your complimentary and confidential total body lift consultation. Call us today to see if this life-changing surgery is right for you!
